How long do your cookies last?
They will last 90 days in our tins and favor container. They will last 30 days if you've ordered our cookie tray. Our tins do a great job of keeping them fresh for you! We don't recommend putting them in the freezer, but if you MUST, there's no harm - they won't taste as good!
How to store Mexican Wedding Cookies
Store at room temperature. Cookies stay fresh for 90 days in our tins. Do not freeze them and do not reheat them.
How are the wedding cookies packaged?
Fresh and whole on arrival
We know it’s important that your cookies arrive whole and unbroken and ready to serve. We personally package your cookies. First we put your bite-size treats into our custom-designed tins. Our tins are then packed in our branded boxes with foam liners so they are protected from the bumps on the road to you.
We recommend keeping the cookies in our custom tins until you are ready to serve as they are best protected and stay fresher in the closed tin.
We support utilizing our customized tin container to display your cookies on the table - flip the bottom upside down to make a cookie tower, keep cookies in the tin, or use the tin to hold left-over cookies.
Can I travel with my order?
Absolutely! Our tins travel well and protect the cookies. For airplanes, we suggest storing our cookies in an upright carry-on.
How long before my event do I order?
Order at least 5 days before you're event and 8 days during busy holiday seasons. We provide FREE GROUND shipping although if you've run out of time, we also offer 2-day and overnight.
How does shipping work?
FREE shipping is GROUND delivery and while we pay for 3-day delivery, it can not be guaranteed.
Therefore, if you absolutely need your cookies for an event , ask for the DELIVERY DATE 2 days before your event. We promise- cookies will remain fresh in the tin.
If you're cutting it close, please consider 2-day or overnight delivery.
How far in advance to I need to place my order?
It all depends on how quickly you need your order. Please note that for next-day shipping arrivals, orders must be finalized by 2 pm Mountain Standard Time the day prior. Next day shipping is available Monday - Friday. If you are gearing up for a special occasion, we recommend choosing an arrival date 2-3 days in advance. Sometimes holidays make delivery a little wacky, so plan for more time during these high-volume seasons.
Signing for Order
You do not need to be home to sign for your shipping order but take note of delivery times as you wouldn’t want your cookies outside long.
When will my order arrive?
Our ordering system makes it easy to choose your arrival date at checkout. Order today and mark it off your to-do list! Your cookies will arrive fresh in time for your event. We offer ordering 180 in advance.
Is my arrival date guaranteed?
Because we rely completely on third-party shipping method, we are not able to guarantee arrival dates and times, but we try really, really hard to make sure it gets to you on time. If you’re planning for special occasions, we recommend choosing an arrival date 1-2 days early (so for weekend events, we recommend arrival on Thursday) so you can be worry-free! Your cookies will stay fresh in transit for up to 21 days.
What are Mexican Wedding Cookies?
Are these polvorones?
YES! Mexican wedding cookies are known as other names - it just depends your heritage.
They are known as polvorones, pan de polvo, Russian tea cakes, snowball cookies, but distinct from bisochetes as they do not have anise.
Our Mexican wedding cookie recipe has been in our family for 40 years. Romero specializes in making these cookies by bulk so you can serve up and enjoy them at celebrations big and small.
Can I cancel my order?

Are these biscochitos / bizcochitos?
They look and almost taste like biscochitos, but they DO NOT have ANISE and they are not made with lard...but give them a try, they might just be you're NEW favorite biscochito! We have frequent debates between "Texas" "Romeros" and "New Mexico" "Romeros" about the names of these cookies. Join the party!
I'm a Gringo, are these cookies just for weddings?
Welcome and we're happy you've found us! No, not just for weddings - they are traditional cookies that probably had their start at weddings, but are not brought to celebrations, parties, gatherings, events or all types, especially within the Hispanic culture.
Was this "Celebrity Cake Shop?"
YES! My parents owned Celebrity Cake Shop in McAllen and if you haven't found "Our Story" page yet, please do and see how I have created Romero around my dad's three crowd-favorite cookies.
