Celebration of Life Cookie Tin Gift with Card
For the ones who stay with us, always 🕯️
When someone we love is gone, the people left behind still gather. They tell stories, they laugh through tears, and they share something sweet. This gift pairs our Tasting Set tin of Mexican Heritage cookies with our Those Who Love Us Never Truly Leave Us card. It’s a gentle way to show up for a grieving family, bring something to a celebration of life, or honor a loved one on Día de los Muertos.
What’s inside
- Our Tasting Set tin: at least 24 cookies, 8 to 10 each of Luna, Valentina, and Stella, in our signature vintage-inspired tin
- Those Who Love Us Never Truly Leave Us card: a subtle altar scene in soft, muted tones, with a blank interior for your own words
The cookies
- Luna: our traditional Mexican wedding cookie, tender and coated in powdered sugar, with toasted pecans
- Valentina: our heart-shaped pecan cinnamon cookie, fragrant with freshly ground Mexican cinnamon and sugar
- Stella: our churro-inspired cinnamon sugar cookie, and our only nut-free option
Baked from our four-generation family recipe from the Rio Grande Valley, these are the kind of cookies that sit on the table while family remembers together, and that taste like an abuela’s kitchen.

FAQ
What are Mexican Wedding Cookies?
Mexican Wedding Cookies — also known as polvorones, pan de polvo, Russian tea cakes, or snowball cookies — are delicate, melt-in-your-mouth cookies dusted in powdered sugar. Romero Cookies are made from a 40-year family recipe, perfect for weddings, holidays, and everyday celebrations.
Are Romero Cookies the same as biscochitos or bizcochitos?
While they look similar, Romero Mexican Wedding Cookies are not biscochitos. They don’t contain anise and are not made with lard. We often hear regional debates about cookie names — try ours and you might prefer them!
What makes Romero Cookies authentic?
Our recipe has been in the Romero family for over 40 years. Every cookie is handmade in our Denver kitchen with simple, high-quality ingredients that melt in your mouth.
How long do Romero Mexican Wedding Cookies stay fresh?
Our cookies stay fresh for up to 90 days in tins or favor containers and about 30 days if placed in a cookie tray. While freezing won’t harm them, we recommend enjoying them fresh for the best flavor and texture.
Are Mexican Wedding Cookies just for weddings?
Not at all! While they began as a wedding tradition, Mexican Wedding Cookies are now enjoyed at birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and everyday gatherings. They also make thoughtful gifts for teachers, coworkers, and family.
